How Our Training Program Works:
We are always updating, adding, and making changes to our training program; so the number of lessons and the sequence in which they are presented to you in this course could vary from time to time. 

This course is currently divided into 4 modules  Each module contains a set of lesson manuals (both pdf and audio versions), plus a student manual with specific instructions and homework assignments for the lessons within the specific module.  Also included are supporting video presentations, eTextBooks, and various other documents as required.

At the end of each module you will be presented with a short quiz.  These quizzes are intended as exercises that can help you to absorb your training materials better.  You will be able to take these quizzes online and they are scored
live in real time. 

We give you access to one module at a time.  This insures that our students progress through the course in the correct order of presentation.  This is also our system of checks and balances.  When you take your quiz at the end of each module, your personal tutor will review your answers to make sure that you you have demonstrated a good understanding of what was covered in the lessons within that module. If everything looks good, your tutor will authorize your username / password for the next module  Each module uses the same username / password but must be individually authorized as you progress through your course.  If it looks like you need to spend some more time before moving on to the next set of lessons, your tutor will work with you personally to make sure that you get the help that you need. 

At the end of your course you will be given an online final Certification exam.  This exam is required to get your Certificate - it is a validation that you successfully completed and have demonstrated a true understanding of all of the materials in this NHSPC course (see below for more information on this).


Basic to Advanced Merchandising
:  This course begins with the basic principles of retail merchandising.  You will learn the reasons why people make their decisions to either purchase, or to not purchase products and services.  We look at facts and data gleaned from thousands of hours of field research -- in shopping malls, department stores, and supermarkets across North America.  By beginning our study with a look at retail merchandising, you will learn valuable techniques and principles that can easily be adapted and applied to the sale of Real Estate.  For example; basic buying behaviors, you will find, apply not only to retail items but to everything that people purchase, whether it's a carton of milk at the grocery store, a sweater at the local shopping mall, a car - or a home; it's all about merchandising!

We are also going to introduce you to the "Psychology" behind merchandising and buying behavior.  As a Home Stager, it is critical that you understand how to prepare a home in a way that will motivate potential buyers to make a purchase and to perceive value.  Without this understanding, it's like stumbling around in the darkness and it is virtually impossible to properly stage and prepare a home for it's ultimate presentation on the open market when it is for sale.  This course will give you a good knowledge of some of the most important underlying principles of human psychological behaviors, emotions, beliefs, and buying tendencies as they apply to selling and buying a home in today's Real Estate market.  In this course, we'll show you how you can creatively and strategically use your new found merchandising knowledge as a powerful tool to give your client's home's the upper hand and strategic advantage over other competing properties. 

Merchandising Can Take Your Staging Business To The Next Level
, "Real Estate Merchandising" is for the next generation of Home Staging and Real Estate professionals.  This is a process that can allow you to elevate the old-school Home Staging of yesterday and bring it up to "The Next Level"!   Real Estate Merchandising is about targeting a well defined market, it deals with consumer attitudes and behavior, and it mixes in techniques that are designed to appeal to human emotions, feelings and lifestyle.  This is an approach that has not been a part of the "old school" traditional home staging of the past.  But HONESTLY, doesn't it make sense that something as important and time proven as merchandising really should be a part of the overall staging process?  To be perfectly frank - this is just a "no brainer"!  Merchandising is time proven and Hugely successful - that's a fact.  If this wasn't true, then large corporations throughout the world, year after year and decade after decade would not be investing literally Billions upon Billions of dollars to merchandise their products.  In fact, just to drive this point home, in this course, we've included a special video about how one of the worlds largest and best known brands has based their entire empire upon a foundation and history of merchandising! 

Using the NHSPC Real Estate Merchandising system, you will begin the staging process by first evaluating your clients' home from a merchandising point of view.  Unlike other home stagers (your competitors) you will begin working with your client's by assessing each home to first determine what it will take to make the home appeal to the correctly targeted buyer market.  From your in home evaluation, your next step will be to actually create a "merchandising plan".  Similar to a business plan, your merchandising plan will give meaning, purpose and direction to everything that you do in the presentation of your clients' home when it goes on the market for sale.  The presentation of your clients' home "IS" the Staging!  Your merchandising plan is what will drive every step and every detail in the staging process (the public presentation of your clients' home).  Without a merchandising plan, for all practical purposes, all you're really doing is "decorating" - with the goal being to make the home look "pretty".  Yes, pretty can help to sell a home, but a focus on only making the home look pretty, without an underlying strategy and plan, is a truly weak approach when you consider how much more you could be doing for your client's.  It's the merchandising approach that will set your Home Staging business out and apart from all the rest.  It's that "niche" that can make your Home Staging services far more valuable and sought after than all the other stagers in your local market.
 
The Merchandising component is absolutely critical in today's Real Estate market - it embraces the psychological, strategic and the physical aspects of selling a home and brings them all together.  By the time you have  successfully completed this course, you will be able to easily and logically, with a meaningful purpose, strategize everything you do in a home staging project.  You will be able to answer questions such as:  How does the presentation of this home make potential buyer's absolutely fall in love with the property - to the point where they absolutely "must have it"? - What is it that makes this home "feel" just right?  Or, what did you do in the presentation of this home that creates or gives the property additional value in the hearts and minds of potential buyers?   You will be able to answer questions like these with something more then just, "well, it looked pretty"...

Online Certification Exam's:  After you have completed your course, in order to receive your official NHSPC Certification Certificate, you will need to take our online Certification Exam.  This exam consists of between 30 to 40 questions (depending upon the version you are given) and is scored instantly, in real time.  Upon Passing this exam,  your Certification Certificate will be immediately available to print out on your printer and our NHSPC certification database will be updated to reflect that you have passed and are Officially Certified.  Grading on all exams is on a scale of 1 to 10 points per question, with a score of 80% required for each section in order to pass.  There is no additional charge for your exam's - this is included in your course fees.



Note:  Although you must pass your certification exam in order to obtain your certification certificate, you may take the exam as many times as needed.  Also, your personal tutor is there to help you if you are having trouble.
