How Our Training Program Works:
We are always updating, adding, and making changes to our training program; so the number of lessons and the sequence in which they are presented to you in this course could vary from time to time. 

This course is currently divided into 6 modules  Each module contains a set of lesson manuals (pdf and audio versions), plus a student manual with specific instructions and homework assignments for the lessons within the specific module, supporting video presentations, eTextBooks, and various other documents as required.  At the end of each module, you will be presented with a short quiz.  These quizzes are intended as exercises that can help you to absorb your training materials better.  You will be able to take these quizzes online and they are scored
live in real time.  We give you access to one module at a time.  This insures that our students progress through the course in the correct order of presentation.  This is also our system of checks and balances.  When you take your quiz at the end of each module, your personal tutor will review your answers to make sure that you you have demonstrated a good understanding of what was covered in the lessons within that module. If everything looks good, your tutor will authorize your username / password for the next module  Each module uses the same username / password, but must be individually authorized as you progress through your course.  If it looks like you need to spend some more time before moving on to the next set of lessons, your tutor will work with you personally to make sure that you get the help that you need.  At the end of your course you will be given an online Certification Final.  This exam is required to get your Certificate - it is a validation that you successfully completed and have demonstrated a true understanding of all of the materials in this NHSPC course (see below for more information on this).

he Strategy Of Showcasing & Positioning Everything, Including Yourself:  In merchandising, presentation is king.  We always emphasize that first impressions and feelings are everything!  This applies to your business as well!  It's not enough to simply merchandise and set the stage for your clients home.  You should also stage your transportation, and present and position your business, its image, and even yourself in a proper and appealing way!  We will teach you why this is true, and how to go about implementing this very important strategy.

Effective Communications:  learn how to effectively and tactfully communicate with clients, realtors and fellow workers.  We will teach you how to build up and show your confidence, and how to take charge so you can maintain control of your projects right from the very beginning.  We will also teach you how to motivate sellers to let go of attachments to their old home.  In this course, you will come to understand why these things are necessary.  You will learn how to avoid many potential misunderstands, how to reduce stress, and ways to work more efficiently while at the same time having fun as you work!

Design Concepts For Home Merchandisers - Pt. 1:  In this module, from a merchandising & staging perspective, we will cover 7 topics that include the design concepts of: Balance & Symmetry, Space, Perspective, Scale, Arrangement & Layout, the Rule of Three, and "KISS"...  We'll also go over the rules for mixing furniture, and we will include information about walls, floors, chandeliers, seating, and size and shape of furnishings.  We will take you step by step through each room to look at the specifics, including awkward spaces, design dilemma's, design details, surfaces and countertops, accents, style and affect, and more.   Don't think the laundry room, the basement and the garage need staging?  Guess again - it's a huge mistake to leave these out of the total picture and we'll show you how to deal with them (along with why in Lesson 6).  No design concepts training would be complete without some mention and education in materials.  As a merchandiser, you may very well find yourself needing to consult with your clients about materials for upgrades.  You should have at least some basic knowledge about materials such as wood, bamboo, acrylic, nylon, wallpaper, granite,  carpeting & rugs, Etc., Etc.  We'll get you started in this first Design Module, and then give you more information in our Gold Upgrade Advanced course and in future FREE Training Updates. And last but not least, a little knowledge about different types of home architectural styles can go a long way toward knowing how to properly merchandise a home.  As time passes, we will add more to our course in this area, but for right now we'll be focusing on two styles just to get you started - Contemporary Western and New Asian.

All  Real Estate Merchandisers need to have at least a basic understanding of plant care and health, where to find what is needed, how, where, and when plants should be used, Etc.  We cover all of these issues in this training lesson.

Liability & Insurance In The Real Estate Merchandising & Home Staging Industry:  This is an area that we cover so that students will have an understanding about the risks and obligations in our industry.  This is a particularly important lesson for freelancers and people who plan to operate their own Real Estate Merchandising & Home Staging business.

Free Web Page and Portfolio:  Students who successfully complete this Staging Pro™ Certification Training Program, and who are added to the MDS Home Staging Team, will be given up to 5 FREE Portfolio pages and an About Us listing on our Million Dollar Stagers website at http://www.milliondollarstagers.com/about.html .




Course Materials:  This course utilizes and provides various printed and multimedia resources.  These materials are made available online and are provided in digital form to students.  We are continually developing new materials all the time as this is an ongoing process.


 

Online Certification Exam's:  After you have completed your course, in order to receive your official NHSPC Certification Certificate, you will need to take our online Certification Exam.  This exam consists of between 35 to 40 questions (depending upon the version you are given) and is scored instantly, in real time.  Upon Passing this exam,  your Certification Certificate will be immediately available to print out on your printer and our NHSPC certification database will be updated to reflect that you have passed and are Officially Certified.  If you take our Gold Certificate Upgrade course, there is a second exam, which covers the additional material that you will learn, as well as an "in the field" Home Evaluation, Planning and Virtual Staging Exercise.  The first part of this second exam is also taken and scored live online, but section 2 is personally graded by your instructor and your Gold Certification Certificate will be sent to you via email.  Grading on all exams is on a scale of 1 to 10 points per question, with a score of 80% required for each section in order to pass.  There is no additional charge for your exam's - this is included in your course fees.




Note:  Although you must pass your certification exam in order to obtain your certification certificate, you may take the exam as many times as needed.  Also, your personal tutor is there to help you if you are having trouble.

Apprentice Program - Real World Hands-On Experience:  For your first 2 or 3 projects, if you would like to work with our sister company, Million Dollar Stagers, and as we have work available, you may be able to work with us under our Stager Apprentice Program as a way to add to your training and build experience.  In order to qualify, you must be in good standing with NHSPC, current on any payments and fees associated with course payment plans, and doing well in your training sessions (or have already obtained your NHSPC Certification).  This work will be offered in Homes that are either already on the market, or being prepared for sale.  Apprentice work is non-paid, and is considered to be training in addition to and over and above your designated course hours.

Why We Are Different Then All The Others:
Our courses are specifically designed to teach you how to Properly "Merchandise", Position and Stage Real Estate properties.  Within our courses and certification curriculums, we do not deal with (or we deal very little with) the business setup and operation side of things. Although all or most of the other Home Staging Courses out there provide a strong focus in business training, it is our believe that this is knowledge and training that can easily be obtained at most any College or University.  Home Staging, and especially Real Estate Merchandising, on the other hand, is not currently available within the curriculums of these institutions.  Although we may possibly, at a later date, add a separate home business course to our offerings, we believe that your Merchandising & Stager Training needs to be tightly focused on the actual services and work that you will be providing to your clients.  In the NHSPC Real Estate Merchandiser and Home Staging Pro Training and Certification Program, your course fees are applied directly toward this goal.

The primary purpose of our Real Estate Merchandising & Home Stager Courses, and of this NHSPC Training & Certification Program is to give our students Substantial Knowledge and Tools that will enable them to successfully do the actual work and provide the services of a Real Estate Merchandiser and Home Staging Professional.  This is our specialty!  You will learn how to put together a complete home merchandising plan, and then stage the home from this.    

With additional business training, or if you already have previous business experience, the knowledge that you will gain from our courses here can easily be added and applied to operating your own Home Staging & Real Estate Merchandising company.  Or, you can take what you learn from NHSPC, without any additional business training or experience, and use it to work with an employer immediately.  You can make use of your training with us to move forward in your new career in any way that you would like.  The choice is completely yours.
